A Brief Introduction

Jackfield is a small village about one mile down the river Severn from the world famous Ironbridge.  It has had its own brass band for over 100 years, an era that has seen two world wars, great industrial activity and an equally great depression.  The band has continually kept its presence at countless concerts, weddings, funerals, acts of remembrance and church services, marches, fetes and festivals, and many other functions which bond the local community in a way that only a brass band can do.  The band has performed at concert venues locally, nationally and internationally, and in recent years has formed an alliance with the Mellingen Band from Switzerland.

Today the band is proud of its long history and association with the village of Jackfield.  In 1999 they moved into "The Old Weslyan Chapel" in Jackfield which is now the official band headquarters.   The chapel dates back to 1825 and has been restored over sevral years by the players themselves to provide not only a purpose  built rehearsal facility but also a function room with kitchen facilities and disabled access to serve the local community.
