Hudson Shield  -  The Bandsman of the Year

The Hudson Shield is to commemorate 5 brothers who played for the band in the inter-war years. These brothers devoted many years of selfless service to the band and there faces appear in many of the photo's around the bandroom.

The Bandsman of the year is voted for by all the players in the band. It is to recognise an outstanding contribution to the service of the band over the year. This could be in either a musical capacity or in an administrative capacity, or both.

Brookes Trophy  -  The Player of the Year

The Brookes Trophy was donated by Martin Brookes OBE & Sylvia Brookes. Their support and help over the years have been invaluable in helping to raise the profile of the Jackfield Band. Many of you will know Martin as our Compere at our annual Christmas Concert and at our most significant events during the year.

The Player of the year is decided by the Bands Musical Director. They choose a player that has made a significant musical contribution. This could be for consistent performance, outstanding performance at a particular contest or concert, improvement over the year or any other outstanding musical contribution.
